ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

OVERVIEW OF THE ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and collections activities. This role will be responsible for processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, resolving discrepancies, and supporting cash flow management.
ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES
Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding, approvals, and documentation. Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to verify accuracy. The Accounting Specialist will prepare and process payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers. Maintain vendor records and research discrepancies to ensure timely resolution. Generate customer invoices and maintain accurate accounts receivable records. Apply customer payments and reconcile account balances. The Accounting Specialist will monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding customer balances. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues. Document collection activities and update account status. Assist with accounting reports and other finance-related projects as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST ROLE
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or collections. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment. EB-1412392755
