Job Description

This full-time position supports the Finance Department with a variety of financial and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, trustworthy, and comfortable working with numbers, confidential records, and multiple competing priorities. This role reports directly to the Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, review, and process driver timesheets — verifying accuracy, supervisor approvals, and completeness prior to submission Count, reconcile, and document cash receipts in accordance with internal controls and organizational policy Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions as directed Support month-end close activities and assist with audit preparation as needed Perform general Finance Department administrative tasks as assigned

Fiscal Department Director About the Role The Fiscal Department Clerk is responsible for the accurate collection, counting, and reconciliation of client fares and operator cash deposits. This role supports the financial integrity of the organization by verifying cash, checks, and other collected funds against operator manifests and time sheets, identifying and documenting discrepancies, and preparing funds for deposit. The Fiscal Clerk also assists with accounts payable processing, prepaid and returned check management, and departmental reporting, and helps ensure the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of daily fiscal operations. Key Responsibilities ? Collect, count, and reconcile client fares and operator cash deposits ? Verify cash, checks, and other collected funds against operator manifests and time sheets ? Identify, document, and report discrepancies clearly and in a timely manner ? Prepare funds for deposit in accordance with established procedures ? Assist with accounts payable processing ? Manage prepaid and returned check tracking and follow-up ? Support departmental reporting needs ? Maintain filing, scanning, and records retention in compliance with company policy ? Assist other fiscal department staff when needed ? Assist other departments as needed, including staffing table events and covering customer service calls Qualifications ? High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or coursework in Finance or a related field preferred ? Prior experience in cash handling, bookkeeping, or a fiscal clerk role preferred ? Proficiency with basic spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and office equipment, including cash/coin counters ? Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail ? Ability to identify and document discrepancies clearly and concisely ? Effective written and verbal communication skills ? Ability to work independently and manage time-sensitive tasks ? Trustworthiness and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards This full-time role within the Finance Department provides crucial support through various financial and administrative tasks.
