full-time Accounting Support Specialist About the Role PEC Management is looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional to join our support office team in a newly created role. This isn't a typical single-function accounting position
- it's a blended role built to cover multiple areas of our accounting operation across the week, giving you variety, exposure to different parts of the business, and a direct line to our Controller.
If you like structure but don't want to do the exact same task every day, this role is designed for you. What You'll Do This position combines several accounting functions into one role.
Your week will typically include:
Accounts Payable
- processing vendor invoices, coding expenses, matching purchase orders, and ensuring timely, accurate payments Benefit Reconciliation
- reconciling employee benefit deductions and carrier billing to ensure accuracy across payroll and vendor statements Payroll Support
- assisting with payroll such as data entry, timekeeping corrections, and reconciliation, and submission of smaller entity payroll. Controller Support
- acting as an accounting assistant to the Controller, helping with month-end tasks, reporting, and special projects as needed Because the role spans multiple functions, your daily and weekly schedule will shift based on business needs
- for example, AP-heavy days early in the week, benefit reconciliation around billing cycles, and payroll or Controller support around key deadlines.
What We're Looking For Prior experience in accounts payable, payroll, or general accounting support Comfort working with numbers, reconciliations, and detail-heavy data entry Strong organizational skills and the ability to shift between tasks without losing accuracy A team player who's comfortable asking questions and learning multiple systems/processes Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting or payroll software a plus Associate's degree in accounting/finance preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience Why This Role Is Different Most accounting roles are built around one function.
