Job Description
We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support daily financial operations for a healthcare organization. This position is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing a range of accounting activities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will help maintain accurate records, assist with reporting, and contribute to the smooth handling of payables, receivables, and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices and payment transactions while maintaining complete and accurate accounts payable records.
- Monitor incoming payments, apply receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable activities.
- Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records on a regular basis to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accounting data in QuickBooks and ensure entries are recorded in alignment with established financial practices.
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits and assist with gathering financial records needed for review.
- Use Microsoft Excel to organize financial information, track account activity, and support reporting needs.
- Review transactions carefully to help preserve data accuracy and uphold accounting standards across daily operations
- Prior experience in an accounting support or accounting assistant role.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, organizing, and reviewing financial data.
- Understanding of core accounting principles and standard bookkeeping practices.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare audit support materials with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a structured environment.
