Laboratory Assistant - Pittsburgh, PA Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our National IH Laboratory team in Pittsburgh, PA. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. What are we looking for? The Laboratory Assistant will support the Building & Construction Business by performing sample processing and login, supply ordering, billing, customer service, as well as a full range of administrative duties.
Shift/Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 12:30pm Salary & Benefits Information Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, and other job-related duties. What you'll do:
  • Perform sample processing and login utilizing a LIMS
  • Receive calls from clients and provide customer service and/or routing to the appropriate technical staff
  • Greet and assist clients with sample submissions onsite
  • Create various documents, spreadsheets, etc. utilizing Microsoft Office Software.
  • Perform various general office duties including faxing, copying, mailing, filing, etc.
  • Assisting with end of month billing, Accounts Receivable, Collections, and Invoice payments
  • May assist with developing, updating and/or reviewing local operating procedures and/ or work instructions
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years+ experience in an administrative role
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities
