Description Accounting & Tax Specialist - 108503 If you're the kind of person who notices when the numbers don't quite add up, takes pride in getting the details right, and enjoys being the person others can count on, then we might have a great opportunity for you. Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting & Tax Specialist to support payroll processing and related accounting functions while providing professional, responsive service to their clients. This is a role for someone who can work independently, manage deadlines, solve problems, and look for ways to make processes more efficient—not simply maintain the status quo.

Schedule:

Full-time (extended hours during tax season)

Pay:

$24.00+/hour (based on experience) | Overtime and bonus opportunities

•This is a direct hire position with benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and documentation needed for tax return preparation
  • Prepare or assist with individual and small business tax returns
  • Review financial information, data, and completed forms for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify missing information, errors, or discrepancies and follow up to resolve issues
  • Answer client questions and provide guidance related to tax and accounting matters
  • Perform bookkeeping and payroll tasks Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation, including individual returns and related schedules
  • Experience with payroll processing, payroll tax payments, and year-end reporting preferred
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, payroll software, and 1099 preparation preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial information, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple deadlines
