Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an organized and dependable Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to assist with customer accounts, outstanding receivables, and day to day collection activity. This position requires someone who can stay on top of open items, communicate professionally with customers, recognize when something does not add up, and take the initiative to determine the next step without needing constant direction. Responsibilities (included, but not limited to) Monitor accounts receivable and identify past due customer balances Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment status Follow up consistently on payment commitments and unresolved balances Maintain accurate notes regarding collection activity and customer communication Research payment discrepancies, short payments, unapplied payments, and account questions Work with internal departments to resolve invoice or customer account issues Send invoices, statements, payment documentation, and other information as needed Escalate collection issues when appropriate Assist with applying customer payments and maintaining accurate customer accounts Review assigned accounts regularly to ensure outstanding issues are not overlooked Assist the Accounting Department with other accounts receivable and administrative duties as needed Qualifications Previous accounts receivable, collections, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred Strong organizational and follow up skills Comfortable communicating with customers by phone and email Ability to research an issue and use good judgment to determine the appropriate next step Strong attention to detail and basic problem solving skills Ability to manage multiple open items and prioritize responsibilities Comfortable working with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and other business systems Dependable, professional, and able to work independently What We Are Looking For The right person for this position does not simply work through a task list. We are looking for someone who notices when something is missing, follows an issue through to resolution, and understands when additional action is needed. Strong communication, organization, common sense, and accountability are important to success in this role.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
