Job Description

Position Summary Provide accounting assistance to the Financial Department and Finance Director for payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The Accounting Assistant will perform daily accounting tasks to support our financial team, ensuring financial functions run smoothly and efficiently. Essential Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Provide part time support to the Financial Department. Familiarize oneself with Family Service of Chester County policies and procedures as they pertain to accounting functions. Produce and receive board approval for relative policies and procedures. Accounts Payable- invoice processing, filing, and electronic storing Accounts Receivable- processing and posting daily, weekly, and monthly payments Become adept in the Counseling department's receivables Utilize Quickbooks for payroll processing Update expense reports and process reimbursement forms
Payroll:
Understand time-sheets, programs, and all functions associated with biweekly payroll. Work with administrative staff to accomplish payroll processes and functions.
Benefit Administration:
Familiarize oneself with retirement, life and disability payments. Support payroll department to process benefit deductions. Support the Finance Director with end of the month reporting, 1099 processing, audit processing, monthly reconciliations, recurring entries, and the end of the month closings.
Qualifications :
BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field (experience will be considered in lieu of education) : Work experience as an
Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk :
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures, familiarity with finance regulations, good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors, hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks), organization skills, and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
