WHAT YOU'LL DO AS THE ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle, including processing checks and ACH payments and reconciling receipts Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper approvals and accurate vendor records The Accounting Specialist will process and reconcile corporate credit card transactions and review vendor statements for discrepancies Record daily deposits and incoming payments, reconcile bank accounts, and assist with month-end and year-end close activities Track grants and donations and maintain accurate documentation related to fund usage The Accounting Specialist will prepare schedules, documentation, and reports for internal and external audits Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows The Accounting Specialist will assist with special projects and provide support to the broader finance team as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN AN ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
Accounting degree and relevant accounting experience QuickBooks Desktop experience is a plus; training is available Knowledge of general ledger processes, reconciliations, and basic AP/AR procedures Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong problem-solving and communication skills Collaborative approach and willingness to learn Exposure to grant tracking or nonprofit accounting is a plus
