Accounting Assistant Compensation:
$22 to $25 per hour
Employment Type:
Six month contract with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Fridays are remote/work from home, In-Office Mon-Thursday.
Location:
77060 Position Overview We are seeking a detail oriented Accounting Assistant to support daily cash application, payment processing, billing, and other accounting activities. This position is ideal for someone with several years of hands on accounting experience who is organized, accurate, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Responsibilities Perform daily cash application activities and ensure payments are posted accurately and promptly Review Positive Pay transactions and manage exceptions Record transactions in Microsoft Dynamics GP Process client invoices Prepare supporting documentation for customer refunds and submit requests for approval Research and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and remittance variances Collaborate with other members of the accounting department Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred At least three years of experience in accounting, cash applications, payment processing, billing, accounts receivable, or a related function Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is helpful but not required Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines Professional communication and interpersonal skills
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
