CFO Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the company, including recording financial data, maintaining accurate ledgers, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the CFO and other members of the finance team to ensure that financial records are up-to-date and accurately reflect the company's financial position.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Bookkeeping:
Record daily financial transactions including sales, receipts, payments, and invoices into the general ledger. Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts regularly to ensure accuracy. Maintain an organized filing system for receipts, invoices, and other financial documents.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Manage accounts payable by processing invoices and ensuring timely payments to vendors. Handle accounts receivable, tracking customer payments and following up on overdue balances. Issue invoices and statements to clients and maintain detailed records of all transactions.
Payroll Processing:
Process employee payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of hours, deductions, and benefits. Maintain employee payroll records and resolve any discrepancies related to payroll.
Financial Reporting:
Assist the CFO in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Generate reports such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow summaries as needed. Ensure the accuracy of financial reports by cross-checking data and reconciling any discrepancies.
Compliance & Taxes:
Assist in preparing tax documents, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and submission deadlines. Maintain records required for audits, liaising with external auditors as needed. Stay updated on relevant regulations and ensure the company is compliant with all local, state, and federal financial regulations. Support to
CFO:
Provide support to the CFO in financial analysis, budget preparation, and cash flow management. Assist in implementing and maintaining financial policies and procedures to improve financial operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required). Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, ideally in the entertainment or media industry. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, financial regulations, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial management tools. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with a high degree of accuracy in financial record-keeping. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with the CFO and other team members.
