Job Description
Position Summary Wake Forest Baptist Church is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage our core financial operations. This vital part-time role oversees accurate recordkeeping of all church transactions, manages multi-entity payroll and disbursements, and ensures robust compliance for both the church and our associated preschool program ministries. Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly disbursements and maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage secure, confidential contribution tracking and report statements to members.
- Prepare salaried and hourly payroll for staff, as well as corresponding tax withholdings.
- Prepare and submit sales tax and property tax filings.
- Prepare monthly and annual ledger closings, bank and account reconciliations.
- Produce monthly financial statements, compared to budget and prior year results.
- Work with the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee to answer questions and provide reports as requested.
- Oversee full financial workflows for preschool program and preschool summer camp.
- Provide support for special programs, such as senior adult trips ("JOY - Just Older Youth"), and special music events ("Virgina Tull Music and Arts Series").
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Associate's degree in Accounting. Three (3) years of full-charge bookkeeping or hands-on accounting experience.Preferred:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting. Five (5) years of full-charge bookkeeping experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Position Details- Part-time, approximately 25 hours per week
- Flexible hybrid schedule.
- $25.00 to $30.00 hour, depending on experience.
