Job Description

Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to manage our day-to-day accounting, payroll, and financial reporting. We are looking for someone who doesn't simply enter transactions into QuickBooks, but who has a strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll, financial reporting, and accurate bookkeeping . The right person will take ownership of our accounting records, employee timekeeping and payroll, and ensure management has timely and accurate financial information to make business decisions. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in Quickbooks and maintain accurate financial records Manage employee timecards, including reviewing hours, correcting discrepancies, and ensuring time is properly recorded Process company payroll accurately and on schedule Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, and other payroll-related items Record and categorize income, expenses, payments, deposits, and other transactions Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Maintain accurate customer and vendor records Review transactions for proper classification and identify discrepancies Prepare and review monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and other financial reports Provide ownership/management with accurate and timely financial reporting Track project expenses and assist with job costing and project profitability reporting Maintain organized supporting documentation for financial transactions Coordinate with CPA/accounting professionals as needed Help improve accounting procedures, reporting, and internal financial controls Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed Qualifications Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge required Previous professional bookkeeping/accounting and payroll experience Proficiency with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Time Experience processing payroll and managing employee timecards Strong understanding of Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and general ledger accounting Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank/credit card reconciliations Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate accounting issues Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee and financial information Experience with construction accounting, job costing, payroll, or working for a contractor/construction company is highly preferred. An accounting degree is helpful but not necessarily required. We place greater value on demonstrated accounting knowledge, experience, accuracy, and the ability to maintain clean books and produce reliable financial reports. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.11 per hour
