$44-46k, plus up to 20% annual salary in bonus About Us Tee It Up for the Troops is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families through critical services and programs. Fundraising efforts come from high-impact, mission-driven events held across the country-most notably golf tournaments, along with dinners, receptions, sporting events, and community fundraisers. Our events bring together corporate partners, donors, volunteers, and veterans in meaningful ways that directly support our mission. Tee It Up for the Troops has reunited over 400 veterans through our REUNION outreach program and donated over $20,000,000 since 2005 to partnering veterans support organizations that direct financial support towards identified critical areas of need. Position Summary Tee It Up for the Troops is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Office Coordinator to support the organization's financial operations and administrative functions. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records through QuickBooks, managing routine bookkeeping activities, and coordinating various office and administrative processes that support our staff, fundraising events, donors, and veteran-serving mission. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable balancing accounting responsibilities with administrative support in a collaborative nonprofit environment. The organization is growing- role could be modified over time to accommodate interests and areas of strength. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Accounting
- 80% Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices and payments Generate invoices and monitor accounts receivable Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts Record deposits, donations, sponsorships, and event-related revenue Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules Monitor prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts Track restricted funds and designated program expenses Assist with monthly and year-end financial close processes Prepare financial reports for management and board meetings Support annual audits and preparation of financial information for external accountants Maintain organized digital financial records and supporting documentation Maintain documentation required for nonprofit compliance Identify opportunities to improve accounting and financial processes Event & Fundraising Financial Support•10% Record and reconcile fundraising event revenue and expenses Track sponsorships, registrations, donations, and event-related expenditures Support accurate tracking of donor contributions and event-related expenditures Coordinate collection and organization of financial documentation related to events, including state registrations and tax-exempt status Compose and send thank you letters Payroll & Contractor Support•5% Record payroll journal entries and related liabilities Track contractor payments for annual 1099 reporting Maintain payroll-related records and documentation Office Coordination & Administrative Support•5% Serve as the primary point of contact for general office administration Assist with mail processing, document distribution and shipping event supplies Assist with data entry and maintenance of donor, sponsor, event, and volunteer records Qualifications Required Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or office administration experience Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information Preferred Experience working in a nonprofit organization Familiarity with donor management or CRM systems Experience supporting fundraising events or membership-based organizations Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and restricted fund tracking Experience supporting audits and annual financial reviews Desired Characteristics Exceptionally organized and detail oriented Self-motivated and able to work independently Comfortable managing both financial and administrative responsibilities Service-oriented with a positive, team-focused attitude Flexible and willing to assist wherever needed Passionate about supporting veterans and military families Work Environment and Benefits Standard office setting with frequent phone communication Hybrid schedule, 2-4 days/week in office (Burnsville, MN) Important note: No medical insurance at this time 3%
