Dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, this organization is seeking a Finance & Accounting Assistant to support its Supported Living Program. This role supports financial and administrative operations, including bookkeeping, reimbursement tracking, accounts payable, client financial records, audit preparation, and communication with external partners such as representative payees, WA DSHS, SSA, housing providers, Medicaid/Medicare, and internal finance teams.Compensation:
$27-$30/hrAvailability:
Hybrid role with approximately 3 days/week onsite in SeaTac. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM, with some flexibility and occasional evening/weekend work with advance notice.RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform general bookkeeping and data entry for Supported Living Program transactions.Maintain the general ledger:
record vendor invoices, deposits, and adjusting journal entries Ensure accurate coding to accounts/departments/projects. Support audit readiness by maintaining documentation/attachments (receipts, invoices, supporting files) and assisting with audits as needed. Manage credit card expense tracking, categorization, and receipt reconciliation. Coordinate accounts payable and vendor management: process bills, prepare checks, and communicate with vendors. Track and process client-related reimbursements and maintain organized client financial records/ledgers. Collaborate with the Controller to support timely, accurate invoicing for grants and contracts. Communicate professionally with external partners (e.g., representative payees, state agencies, landlords/housing authorities, Medicaid/Medicare) and internal teams. Support program documentation processes (e.g., budgets, Individual Financial Plans) and help keep required paperwork up to date. Assist with SLP vehicle fleet tracking/maintenance and annual onsite audit activities. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative or financial position. Direct experience interacting with and supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to learn and use required technology and internal systems. QuickBooks experience and comfort using accounting or finance platforms preferred. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality, including HIPAA and agency standards. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Ability to meet Mandatory Reporter requirements. Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain at time of hire.DSHS/DDCS
Basic Core Requirements, or completion of these trainings within 90 days of hire. Ability to learn about IDD services, community resources, and changing policies/procedures through experience and on-the-job training. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse economic, ethnic, and social backgrounds. Familiarity with platforms such as Therap, Humanity, Paycom, Washington Connects, Provider One, and Relias is preferred Experience with client financial records, reimbursements, Supported Living programs, or DDA processes preferred OR a combination of education, experience, and measurable performance which demonstrates the capability to perform the duties of this position.
