Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Law Firm Bookkeeper to join our boutique law firm. This role requires strong experience and understaning of Lawyers' Trust Accounts (IOLTA), state bar compliance (e.g., California Rule of Professional Conduct 1.15), and three-way reconciliations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills within a professional legal environment, contributing to the firm's overall success and efficiency. Responsibilities Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including generating client ledgers and client invoicing using TABS invoicing and accounting software Process client payments, including receiving and transferring funds between Trust and general account involving 3-way reconciliation/journal entries for fund transfers. Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation. Manage accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payments. Process payroll accurately and efficiently, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards. Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies. Prepare detailed financial reports, including budgets, cash flow statements, and other management reports. Experience Proven bookkeeping experience within a law firm including trust accounting Strong knowledge of accounting software, preferably TABS. Demonstrated proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account analysis, budgeting, and financial statement preparation. Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality and accuracy. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10-key typing is advantageous.
