Hybrid (remote/office) Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Payroll & Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll responsibilities. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, reconciling accounts, and assisting with general accounting and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy, comfortable working independently, has professional customer service skills, and has strong attention to detail and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Process biweekly, semimonthly, or monthly payroll accurately and on time. Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and benefits. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and payments as required. Maintain accurate general ledger and bookkeeping records. Record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts. Review and categorize financial transactions. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Track expenses, invoices, payments, and receipts. Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end payroll reporting. Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation. Communicate with management and team regarding payroll, bookkeeping, and financial questions. Ensure financial information is kept confidential and secure. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed. Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping and payroll experience preferred. Experience with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop preferred. Experience with payroll software such as QuickBooks Payroll preferred. Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and payroll procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work independently. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle confidential employee and financial information with discretion. Preferred Experience Small-business bookkeeping experience. Experience managing payroll for 10+ employees. Knowledge of payroll tax requirements and employment regulations. Experience preparing financial statements and other cost reports.Compensation Pay:
$23-$28 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
