Job Description
Newport National Golf Club deemed the "Number One Public Access Course in New England" by New England Golf Monthly. Legendary golf architect, Arthur Hills, designed the challenging 7,244-yard Orchard Course. The 18-hole links-style course sports sloping fairways, marshes, and strategically placed bunkers. The dramatic setting boasts views of the Atlantic Ocean and Sakonnet Passage while challenging golfers with steady winds coming off Narragansett Bay. Golfweek Magazine placed the course in the "Top Twenty New Courses in America". Our newly constructed 20,000 square foot Club House, and additional 9-hole golf course, and practice facility is now open. We are seeking a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position will work closely with management to performing clerical, administrative, and bookkeeping tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain membership information, membership billing, and monthly statements.
- Prepare daily closings such as cash deposits and spreadsheets associated with Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restriction (DCCR) and Daily Rounds and Cash Receipts (DRCR).
- Provide assistance and answer questions from members and guests. Escalate to Golf Pro, Club Manager, or appropriate department when necessary.
- Provide general administrative and accounting support to department heads as needed.
- Maintain instruction binder with additions, change notes, and screen shots.
- Create and maintain physical and electronic filing system.
- Manage vendor accounts and maintain books.
- Book and maintain Tee Sheet
- Draft communications and other formal documents.
- Answer phones and direct calls and distribute mail.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of related experience in office administration/accounting required
- Knowledge and experience in the golf industry a plus
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
