We are seeking a bookkeeper to work in our Pawtucket, RI office for the following tasks: Bookkeeper The bookkeeper is responsible for the financial day-to-day operations of the accounting "department." The Bookkeeper is the primary source for all client, consultant, and vendor financial information. To maintain consistent up-to-date accounts and accurate reports of LLB's financial position, the bookkeeper expedites the flow of information from the Project Managers (Team Leaders / Associates / Principals).
Core Responsibilities include:
  • Perform all daily AP and AR functions, including processing checks, posting payments, paying vendors, journal entries etc.
  • Perform all banking functions, including daily deposits and check writing.
  • Reconcile credit cards.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of bank account and payroll.
  • Assist with invoicing Clients & preparing Client statements.
  • Manage all aspects of payroll & payroll reconciliation including processing bi-weekly payroll.
  • Collections assistance as needed.
  • Manage
HSA, 401K
& Flex Spending accounts, including reconciliation & annual census and Workers Comp reports.
  • Manage employee insurance coverage (Life/Di, health, dental, vision).
  • Assist with tax filings as needed.
  • Assist with company audits and tax preparation functions.
  • File annual corporate reports.
  • Assist with annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the company's financial records, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and statements.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
  • Maintain files, including filing of payroll related information, sales data (?), accounts payable documentation, and other.
  • Assume responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Review and approval of Employee time sheets and expenses.
Additional Responsibilities may include:
  • Financial aspects of human resources.
  • Tracking and renewing of employee & company licensure.
  • Tracking and renewing of employee individual professional licensure and professional organization dues.
  • Other functions as needed.
Skills required include:
  • 3-5 years of applicable similar experience.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience with Deltek Ajera accounting software highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starting, detail-oriented, problem-solving.
