Job Description

Part-Time Bookkeeper - Plaintiff's Personal Injury Law Firm Small plaintiff's personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced, reliable part-time bookkeeper to assist with the firm's day-to-day bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping. This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week with a highly flexible schedule. Hours can be arranged to accommodate the right candidate—for example, several full or partial days per week, mornings, or another consistent schedule that works for both the employee and the firm. Responsibilities The bookkeeper will assist with the firm's regular bookkeeping functions, including: Maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online Recording and categorizing income and expenses Reconciling bank and credit card accounts Tracking law firm expenses and client-related case costs Maintaining accurate records of costs advanced on behalf of clients Assisting with bookkeeping associated with settlements and contingency-fee cases Tracking accounts payable and recurring expenses Assisting with accounts receivable as applicable Preparing routine internal financial reports for the attorney Maintaining organized financial records and supporting documentation Assisting with the firm's transition from its current legal accounting system to QuickBooks Online Working with the firm's outside accountant or CPA when information or records are needed for tax purposes. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Prior bookkeeping experience Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage recurring responsibilities without constant supervision A high degree of reliability, dependability, and confidentiality Comfort working in a small-office environment Good communication skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies Prior bookkeeping experience in a law firm is strongly preferred. Experience with a plaintiff's personal injury practice, contingency-fee cases, client cost advances, settlements, and law firm trust accounting is particularly helpful. About the Position This is a good opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper who wants a consistent part-time position with flexibility. We are a small plaintiff's law firm and are looking for someone who can take ownership of the bookkeeping function, keep our financial records organized and current, and become a dependable part of the practice.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience, particularly QuickBooks Online and law firm bookkeeping experience.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
