Job Description
We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a team in Greenwood, Indiana in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role is ideal for someone who learns quickly, stays organized while balancing multiple priorities, and brings strong accuracy to day-to-day accounting work. The position is fully on-site with a standard Monday through Friday schedule. You will support a range of accounting and payroll activities while working within Sage construction software and contributing to smooth financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and maintain accurate accounts payable records to support timely disbursements.
- Manage customer invoicing, post incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to keep accounts receivable current.
- Reconcile account activity by reviewing transactions, researching discrepancies, and ensuring financial records remain accurate.
- Assist with payroll processing, including manual entries and union-related pay considerations when required.
- Track and update lien waivers, contracts, and work-in-progress information to help monitor project-related costs and billing status.
- Contribute to general accounting tasks as needed, including record maintenance, reporting support, and administrative follow-through within the department.
