Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic AP/Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for accounts payable and payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. Your expertise will help streamline financial operations, support employee compensation, and uphold adherence to labor laws and tax regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where precision and efficiency are paramount. Responsibilities Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, or Kronos, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits. Manage accounts payable functions by reviewing invoices, preparing journal entries, and reconciling vendor statements within accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll and accounts payable to ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Ensure compliance with employment law, labor regulations, and tax law by applying current legal standards to payroll processing and reporting. Support month-end closing activities. Assist with audit preparations by providing documentation related to payroll transactions, tax filings, and vendor payments. Requirements Proven experience with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex or UltiPro; familiarity with Kronos or other time & attendance systems is highly desirable. knowledge of Fund accounting principles, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits. Experience in spreadsheets (Excel) Understanding of employment & labor law as well as payroll tax regulations to ensure compliance across all processes. Experience handling confidential information with integrity and discretion. Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on account reconciliation and financial accuracy.
