Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our customers team. In this vital role, you will support the organization's financial operations by managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, familiarity with multiple financial software platforms, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of confidential financial information. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in corporate and governmental accounting practices while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Duties Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Workday. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and account reconciliation. Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger accounting activities in accordance with GAAP and other relevant standards. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and verify account accuracy through detailed account analysis. Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing. Assist with month-end closing procedures, including account analysis and financial statement preparation. Handle confidential information with integrity while ensuring compliance with SOX controls and internal policies. Utilize Excel data analysis skills for reporting purposes and identify opportunities for process improvements. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies related to accounts receivable or payable. Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to financial transactions. Qualifications Minimum of two years of experience in accounting or finance roles, including bookkeeping or clerical accounting functions. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with Workday or UltiPro is a plus. Strong understanding of GAAP principles, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts. Familiarity with financial software like Paychex, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, or UltiPro for payroll processing. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet analysis efficiently. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Effective communication skills for interacting professionally with vendors, clients, and team members. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications—particularly Excel—for data analysis and reporting purposes. Experience handling confidential information responsibly while adhering to compliance standards such as SOX. This position is an integral part of our finance department dedicated to ensuring precise financial operations. Pay:
$41,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
