Job Description

The deputy clerk is responsible for the general office duties, customer service, and eceipting tax payments. The deputy clerk is under the general direction of the Chief Deputy as well as the Trustee.
Office Duties:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Knowledge of Automated Accounting Systems Perform basic bookkeeping duties Greet all visitors and customers in a professional, energetic and courteous manner Provide information and guidance to all visitors Perform receptionist duties, including answering phones and directing calls to appropriate person, take and deliver messages Operates a computer to enter, scan, review or modify data, perform data entry functions by keying in data into computer, verify accuracy of data, etc. Issue receipts for tax payments Issue receipts for mail-in payments Assist in filing duties/retrieve files for personnel Assist with tax relief applications Perform data entry County and balance the cash drawer daily All other tasks assigned High School diploma or equivalent. Accounting or bookkeeping experience required. Previous administrative experience and/or experience working in Trustee's office, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position
