Job Description

The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for processing invoices in an accurate and timely manner. This position will include setting up and maintaining vendor accounts, collaborating with vendors to resolve questions, reconciling statements, and researching exceptions, analyzing expense reports for accuracy, and other tasks as needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Input and process invoices for all assigned locations Audit, verify and process employee expense reports Prepare and submit credit applications Manage vendor statement reconciliation process Oversee the mailing and distribution of company checks Assist with credit card reconciliation process and resolve discrepancies as needed Provide support with the preparation of sales tax return in accordance with state and local regulations Upload supporting documents for invoices into our accounting system (Timberscan) Research and respond to vendor and coworker inquiries Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma (required) Experience in Accounting or related field (preferred)
OTHER SKILLS
Strong interpersonal skills; detail oriented; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals; self-motivated and capable of working independently within a team; good judgment; critical thinking problem solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; computer literate with working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel; ability to work effectively with others; ability to adapt in a fast paced environment; good prioritization skills; ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to changing demands of handling multiple job duties and frequent interruptions.
