Cattle Accounting Specialist - Amarillo, TX Friona Industries - 2.6 Amarillo, TX Job Details Full-time 20 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description General Description / Objective This position assists and participate in the day-to-day accounting duties of Friona Industries in regard to cattle accounting, procurement and livestock payments. The position requires tremendous attention to detail in interfacing with operations and accounting departments and will help maintain daily, monthly, and annual accounting reports. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and may at times work in conjunction with other managers and executives at varying Friona locations. Roles and Tasks Manage responsibilities associated with cattle inventory; Subledger support and transactions Gather backup and work up invoices for cattle Verify information on invoices and purchase orders Process payments: checks, drafts, wires, and ACH Coordinate with senior accountant to clear drafts and checks daily Reconcile and close contracts in cattle procurement system; Review contracts for close process Perform monthly lien searches on suppliers Support month-end closing activities at the corporate level and be responsible for specific accounting related to cattle Maintain electronic backup of all associated transactions and assist in producing documentation for all audits Prepare related operational and financial reports to management on a defined basis Monthly general ledger balancing for the accounts assigned Maintain filing contracts, cattle tickets, drafts, etc. Follow our company's established accounting processes as well as assist in documenting the establishment and improvement of those processes Assist with special projects and audit preparation Provide coverage and support in the procurement department and accounting department Answer phones and other duties as assigned This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; and nothing in this herein restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Professional Competencies Education Requirements :
High School Diploma / GED preferred Degree in related field (Business, Accounting, Finance) or related experience, preferred Specific Knowledge /
Experience :
