Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accounting Specialist and become a vital contributor to our organization's financial integrity and operational success. In this role, you will handle a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across various financial processes. Your expertise will support the company's strategic goals by maintaining precise financial records, managing accounts, and leveraging cutting-edge accounting software. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage. Perform detailed account reconciliations, including balance sheet and general ledger analysis, to maintain data integrity. Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Support internal controls compliance by adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and assisting with audit preparations. Conduct data entry tasks with high accuracy, utilizing Excel data analysis skills for reporting and financial analysis purposes. Handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple accounting systems like Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or UltiPro. Assist with budgeting, cost analysis, and financial forecasting to support organizational planning efforts. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate accounting practices. Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles preferred. Hands-on experience with financial software such as Paychex, ADP, Kronos, or similar platforms; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel is essential. Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet management. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail and analytical thinking. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining high levels of accuracy under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills coupled with customer service orientation to collaborate effectively across teams.
