2350 Central Blvd, Brownsville, Texas Position Summary RD HOME is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. The Accounting Assistant will provide support with daily accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll-related tasks, financial records, and general administrative duties. The ideal candidate should be organized, responsible, comfortable working with numbers, and able to maintain accurate and confidential financial records. Experience with QuickBooks and/or accounting in the construction or property management industry is preferred. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily bookkeeping and accounting activities. Enter and maintain financial transactions and records in QuickBooks. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable , including processing invoices, payments, and receipts. Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy. Prepare and organize payments to vendors and contractors. Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations. Maintain organized financial files and supporting documentation. Assist with monthly financial reports and account statements. Assist with payroll processing and maintaining employee records. Track expenses and assist with proper allocation of costs to properties or construction projects. Assist with tracking project expenses, budgets, and job costs. Communicate with vendors, contractors, employees, and other parties regarding invoices, payments, and account information. Assist with tenant and property-related accounting records, including rent payments and account balances. Help gather information and documentation requested by management, accountants, or outside professionals. Assist with tax-related documentation and other accounting requirements. Maintain confidentiality of company, employee, tenant, and financial information. Perform general office and administrative duties as needed. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting, finance, or business coursework or degree preferred. Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or an administrative accounting position preferred. QuickBooks experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Spanish and English proficiency preferred. Experience with construction accounting, property management, or job-cost accounting is a plus.
