Accounting Assistant Texas Ballet Theater - 4.5 Fort Worth, TX Job Details Part-time $20 - $25 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications VLOOKUP function Confidential information handling Attention to detail QuickBooks Data entry Organizational skills Associate's degree Data analysis software Time management Full Job Description Job Summary Texas Ballet Theatre is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the finance function on a part-time, in-office basis. This role will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, data entry, and financial recordkeeping, working closely with the finance and administrative teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This is a unique opportunity to be able to work in various areas of the finance department. This role will train to be back-up for our Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist. It will also provide direct accounting support for the AP / AR Specialist, Manager of Finance and Director of Finance. It is a fast-paced environment. Accuracy and efficiency are key in this role. Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for creating efficiencies will be a PLUS for the ideal candidate. Typical weekly hours will be 20 - 25 hours. Responsibilities Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Enter and reconcile financial data in QuickBooks / Intuit Enterprise Suite Maintain accurate spreadsheets and reports using Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations Support month-end and year-end close processes Organize and maintain financial records and documentation Assist with payroll-related data entry and reporting as needed Support budget tracking and expense reporting Respond to internal inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status Perform other accounting/administrative duties as assigned Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered 1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience Excellent Excel skills required (formulas, pivot tables, data organization/analysis) Proficiency in QuickBooks / Intuit Enterprise Suite required Experience with AI tools (such as Claude)is a plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion Strong organizational and time-management skills Reliable, in-office attendance during scheduled hours Preffered Qualifications Experience working with AI software / tools (such as Claude, Co-Pilot, etc.) Knowledge of accounting for non-profit or arts organization Familiarity with non-profit contributed revenue recognition and reporting Understanding of basic payroll or HR-adjacent administrative tasks Work Environment This is an in-office, part-time, non-exempt position. Hours are generally scheduled during standard business hours, with some flexibility depending on organizational needs. As a non-exempt role, overtime (if applicable) will be compensated in accordance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
