Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Your expertise in accounting software, financial concepts, and data entry will support our organization's financial health and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders using various accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, JobNimbus, Microsoft Excel Manage accounts receivable by generating invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections. Handle accounts payable tasks including vendor payments, reconciling statements, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Perform account reconciliations on the general ledger, balance sheets, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry with high accuracy using tools like Excel data analysis and accounting software. Assist with month-end closing procedures such as journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation. Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to internal inquiries related to billing or payment status and resolving issues efficiently. Answering Phones as you will be on the frontline of our business answering calls and imputing them into JobNimbus and controlling multiple estimators schedules. You will assist the owner in various others duties which might include personal bill handing, horse registration paperwork, negotiating contracts to lower overall operating cost. Experience Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on accounts payable and receivable management and proficient in answering phones professionally. Working experience with financial software such as ADP, QuickBooks Online, JobNimbus. Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP and governmental accounting standards. Experience working with multiple accounting systems like Microsoft Office (Excel spreadsheets), QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or equivalent is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability in data entry accuracy, account reconciliation, journal entries, and bookkeeping functions. Knowledge of technical accounting practices including double entry bookkeeping, credit analysis, budgeting, and financial acumen. Excellent numeracy skills combined with the ability to analyze financial data effectively while maintaining attention to detail in handling confidential information. You MUST be a very organized and computer savvy individual.
