The Part-Time Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions while supporting the daily operations of the Accounting Department. This position helps ensure invoices, vendor payments, and other financial transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with credit union policies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review invoices for accuracy, coding, and required approvals.
- Process vendor invoices and prepare payments in a timely manner.
- Maintain accounts payable records and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status.
- Assist with month-end accounting activities related to accounts payable.
- Support audits by providing requested documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Follow all credit union policies and internal controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
- Accounts Payable experience is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel. Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework or higher education in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Credit Union Accounts Payable experience is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
