Position Description The Accounting Specialist supports the bank's financial operations by posting business transactions, processing invoices, verifying financial data, and maintaining accurate accounts payable records. This role manages vendor information for tax-reporting purposes, assists with regulatory and tax filings, administers the corporate credit card program, and reconciles various accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies. The Accounting Specialist also ensures that financial documents are accurate for payment, auditing, and tax purposes and performs other duties as assigned. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Somerville, Texas. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures preferred. Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal laws and regulations as they apply to financial reporting. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office. Demonstrates initiative, a willingness to take ownership, and the ability to drive improvements independently. Detail-oriented, with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to operate any or all of the following: telephone, copier, fax machine, scanner and imaging systems, personal computer and related printers, and other equipment as directed.
