This position requires advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online and experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and financial reporting . Experience with job costing in the restoration or construction industry is highly preferred. ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Management Manage all accounting functions using QuickBooks Online Maintain accurate general ledger accounts Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports Assist ownership with budgeting and financial analysis Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls Accounts Receivable Generate and send customer invoices Monitor outstanding receivables Follow up on overdue accounts professionally Process customer payments and deposits Assist with insurance payment tracking Accounts Payable Process vendor invoices accurately Schedule and prepare payments Maintain vendor records Reconcile vendor statements Ensure expenses are coded correctly Payroll Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time Maintain employee payroll records Process payroll tax filings and deductions Manage PTO and employee reimbursements Coordinate with HR regarding new hires and terminations Job Costing (Highly Preferred) Experience with construction or restoration accounting is a significant advantage.
Preferred qualifications include:
Tracking labor, subcontractors, equipment, and material costs by project Monitoring project profitability Assisting project managers with cost reporting Reconciling estimates versus actual costs Understanding WIP (Work in Progress) reporting Administrative Support Assist with annual audits Prepare 1099s and year-end documentation Maintain organized financial records Support ownership with special financial projects QualificationsRequired Expert-level experience with QuickBooks Online 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong knowledge of: Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable Payroll Bank reconciliations Financial reporting High attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Preferred Experience in the restoration or construction industry Experience with job costing Familiarity with insurance restoration billing Experience with WIP reporting Understanding of sales tax reporting What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Exceptionally organized Trustworthy and maintains confidentiality Self-motivated Detail-oriented Comfortable working independently Able to identify problems before they become issues Passionate about accuracy and continuous improvement About Disaster Professionals Disaster Professionals provides fast, professional water damage mitigation, mold remediation, asbestos mitigation, fire damage cleanup, and restoration services .
