Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. In this vital role, you will manage a variety of accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, processing journal entries, and supporting financial reporting. Your expertise will help us uphold compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and support our organizational goals through precise bookkeeping practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both corporate and non-profit accounting environments, utilizing leading accounting software to streamline financial operations. Duties Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations regularly to verify data accuracy and identify discrepancies. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare detailed journal entries for various financial activities, including payroll, taxes, and other adjustments aligned with GAAP standards. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to ensure all assets, liabilities, and equity accounts are correctly reported. Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data and assisting in financial report writing for internal and external stakeholders. Manage payroll processing in compliance with applicable regulations while maintaining accurate records of employee compensation. Assist with governmental accounting requirements and tax experience to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Perform double-entry bookkeeping procedures, including debits & credits, to maintain the integrity of the general ledger. Utilize technical accounting skills for account analysis, general ledger reconciliation, and financial software management to optimize bookkeeping operations. Experience Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role within corporate or non-profit organizations. Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or comparable platforms. Solid understanding of GAAP principles, governmental accounting standards (if applicable), and financial concepts. Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately. Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is highly desirable. Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable procedures and budget management techniques. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Basic typing skills (10 key typing) for data entry tasks; strong analytical skills for account analysis. Join us as a Bookkeeper if you're passionate about precision in finance!
