Job Summary
HIRING FOR JANUARY 2027 START DATE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Veterinary Office Bookkeeper/Manager to join our dynamic veterinary practice in the clinic and work closely with our accountant . In this vital role, you will manage all financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance while supporting the smooth operation of our clinic. Your expertise in accounting systems and financial software will help us maintain transparent and efficient financial processes, allowing us to focus on providing exceptional care for our animal patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your bookkeeping skills in a compassionate, fast-paced environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records using our accounting software QuickBooks Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, bill payments, and collections. Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts regularly to ensure data integrity. Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Record journal entries with precision, including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis. Assist with budgeting activities and perform account reconciliation to support financial planning efforts. Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and perform governmental accounting tasks as needed. Requirements Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting within a veterinary or healthcare setting is required. Proficiency in the accounting software QuickBooks Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis. Familiarity with payroll processing procedures and accounts payable/receivable functions. Ability to work efficiently with spreadsheets and financial report writing tools. Excellent attention to detail. Understanding of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and budget monitoring effectively. Demonstrated proficiency in technical accounting tasks including account analysis and general ledger reconciliation. Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
