We are currently seeking an applicant for a full-time accounts payable specialist who will be r esponsible for supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Performs bank reconciliations and account reconciliations, processes accounts receivable invoicing, maintains daily banking activity entries, and manages petty cash. Supports regulatory compliance through preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns, personal property tax filings, and business license renewals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities represent the essential functions of this job that an individual must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation: Record and code invoices into the accounting software to ensure timely and accurate payment Issue payments to vendors during the weekly check processing cycle Confirm the accuracy of invoice payments by verifying federal tax ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders and other approvals, and addressing any discrepancies Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions Other duties as assigned No travel requiredNote:

The following qualifications represent the training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or work experience required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities successfully: High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred At least one year of accounts payable experience required Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Proficient with Microsoft 365 and able to learn applicable accounting software systemsPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical demands : Performing the duties of this job requires near visual acuity, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, and gross manipulation. Additionally, the employee: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and occasional stooping Fine manipulation and keyboarding Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form Work environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in an office setting.
