Job Description
Position Overview:
The Accounting Assistant supports the Finance Manager by handling transactional finance operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounts payable, accounts reconciliation, and customer billing processes. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's overall financial health.Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
Enter invoices into QuickBooks and DockMaster, verify accuracy, and process payments in a timely manner.Accounts Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor accounts to maintain accurate financial records.Billing & Invoicing:
Prepare customer invoices and ensure timely billing. Maintain an accurate accounts receivable sheet.Customer Relations:
Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies.Regulatory Support:
Assist in preparing documentation for audits and regulatory filings.Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial processes. Assist Finance Manager with special projects as needed.Qualifications:
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years' experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. 2+ years' experience in an administrative role. Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Wage is dependent upon experience.What We Offer:
