Overview Join our growing team at Port Angeles Composite LLC, as a Accounting & Business Operations Specialist you will support PAC's financial and business administration activities, with initial emphasis on accounting transactions, financial recordkeeping, document control, and backup coverage for critical business processes. The position also supports payroll, human resources, environmental health and safety administration, reporting, and special projects. As a member of the Business Management Unit, this position cross-trains across functional areas to improve business continuity, cover employee absences, and support the evolving needs of a growing manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working with confidential financial and employee information. Accounting & Finance
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in accordance with established procedures.
Review and enter vendor invoices and supporting documentation.
Prepare customer invoices and maintain accounts receivable records.
Apply customer payments and assist with resolving account discrepancies.
Prepare vendor payment runs for review and approval.
Prepare and process general ledger vouchers and journal entries with appropriate authorization.
Assist with bank, general ledger, and subsidiary account reconciliations.
Maintain complete and accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports and spreadsheets.
Assist with internal reviews, external audits, and regulatory requests.
Crosstrain in essential accounting processes to provide coverage during employee absences. Payroll Support
Serve as trained backup for routine payroll processing, including coverage during planned and unplanned absences.
Review timekeeping and payroll information for completeness and accuracy.
Assist with payroll-related recordkeeping, reporting, reconciliations, and employee inquiries.
Maintain the confidentiality of payroll and employee information. Human Resources Support
Support recruiting administration, including job postings, interview coordination, applicant communication and preemployment activities
Support new-hire onboarding and employee offboarding processes.
Maintain personnel files, training records, and other confidential HR records.
Assist with benefits enrollment, employee communications and administrative follow-up.
Maintain HR tracking reports and assist with required compliance tracking.
Cross-train in selected HR processes to provide back up coverage when needed. Document Control Support
Administer the company's document control processes in accordance with established procedures.
Coordinate the review, approval, revision, issuance, and distribution of controlled documents.
Maintain current and historical document versions and associated approval records.
Monitor document changes and help ensure obsolete versions are removed from points of use.
Maintain accurate document logs, records, and retention information.
Support document requests associated with customer, quality, regulatory, and internal audits. Business Operations & Administration
Provide administrative and analytical support to Business Management and other department leaders.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
Two or more years of experience in accounting, payroll, business administration, document control, human resources support, or a related function.
Experience processing financial transactions and maintaining detailed records.
Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and business systems.
Ability to learn and work effectively in ERP, payroll, HRIS, and document management systems.
Ability to handle confidential financial, payroll, and employee information with discretion.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, leadership, customers, vendors, and external service providers. Preferred Qualifications
Accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, journal entries, or account reconciliations..
HR support experience.
ERP systems, payroll, or HRIS experience.
Manufacturing experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Performance Expectations
