Role Description:
The Tax and Accounting Specialist is a full-time, on-site position based in Appleton, WI. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. The specialist will perform tax planning and advisory services, analyze financial information, and identify opportunities for tax efficiencies and risk mitigation. Daily activities include maintaining organized financial records, collaborating with colleagues and clients, and staying current on changes in tax legislation and accounting standards. The role also involves communicating complex tax and finance concepts in clear terms and contributing to a client-team-focused, detail-oriented work environment. Together as a team we can serve clients better. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Tax Planning and Tax Preparation to support proactive, compliant tax strategies for individuals and businesses. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Tax and Tax Law to interpret regulations, ensure accurate filings, and advise on tax implications. Candidates should possess Finance-related skills to analyze financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and identify opportunities for financial improvement. Having an ability to work and adapt to new software programs and being open to incorporating AI programs to enhance and streamline efforts Knowledge in Microsoft, QuickBooks (desktop and online) is needed Relevant experience with accounting principles, compliance, and financial reporting is beneficial. Ability to ask and interpret questions and the ability to communicate and educate clients is important A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field, and professional certifications (such as CPA or EA) and/or appropriate experience in the field is advantageous.
