Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Cook/Dietary Aide to prepare nutritious, appealing meals for our residents. This role is responsible for meal preparation, kitchen sanitation, food inventory, and supporting care staff to ensure a positive dining experience. Key Responsibilities Prepare daily meals, snacks, and beverages according to dietary needs, textures, restrictions, and resident preferences. Follow recipes accurately and operate kitchen equipment safely. Maintain food inventory, monitor expiration dates, and assist in ordering supplies. Keep kitchen, pantry, and dining prep areas clean, organized Label and store food properly; ensure waste is managed safely and routinely. Serve meals on time and at proper temperatures. Assist care staff with serving, clearing, and resident meal support when needed. Participate in special events or holiday meals as requested. Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies following action plans. Attend required trainings and occasional staff meetings. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay calm under pressure. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work well as part of a team. Previous employment in kitchen preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when stocking or unloading deliveries.
