Job Description
Job Summary The Deputy Clerk-Treasurer plays a crucial role in the financial management of the organization, supporting the Clerk-Treasurer in overseeing financial operations, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent public relations skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. Responsibilities Conduct balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation. Maintain financial records using accounting software such as Workhorse. Requirements A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is helpful. Experience in governmental accounting or public accounting. A good understanding of reconciliation and general ledger processes. Proficiency or the ability to learn and adapt to new accounting software. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively work with the public on a daily basis. The Village of Minong is seeking a Deputy Clerk-Treasurer. The work schedule is Monday through Friday. Primary responsibilities include assisting and supporting the Clerk-Treasurer. Qualifications include but are not limited to a high school diploma or equivalent, an associate degree in accounting or similar is preferred, and experience with computers, including Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based interfaces, the ability to adapt and learn municipal-specific accounting software applications.
