?Full-Time in Office? Position Overview One Worldwide Logistics (OWL)?is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Freight Brokerage Associate to support the growth of our OWL Road Department. This role will play a critical part in the daily execution and coordination of domestic freight brokerage operations, ensuring shipments are efficiently planned, executed, tracked, and delivered while maintaining the highest level of customer service and carrier compliance. The Freight Brokerage Associate will assist in all aspects of freight brokerage operations including carrier onboarding, load sourcing, posting and covering freight, dispatch coordination, shipment tracking, documentation management, and transportation management system (TMS) updates. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, communicates professionally, and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Assist in the daily operations of the OWL Ground Freight Brokerage Division Source, onboard, and maintain relationships with qualified transportation carriers Verify and enforce carrier compliance requirements including insurance certificates, authority status, W-9s, safety ratings, and contractual documentation Utilizing industry leading tools to proactively source capacity Negotiate transportation rates with carriers while maintaining profitability and service expectations Tender and distribute rate confirmations and shipment documentation Coordinate pickups, deliveries, and appointment scheduling with carriers and customers Track and trace shipments while providing proactive status updates internally and externally Update and maintain accurate shipment data within the company TMS platform Ensure all shipment milestones, notes, PODs, and billing documents are uploaded and completed accurately Monitor carrier performance and escalate service issues when necessary Support issue resolution related to delays, service failures, claims, detention, or accessorial charges Work closely with operations, customer service, accounting, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless shipment execution Assist in developing and improving brokerage SOPs, workflows, and operational processes Maintain compliance with all FMCSA, DOT, and company transportation policies Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, freight brokerage, or carrier operations preferred Knowledge of domestic freight brokerage operations including FTL, LTL, expedited, and specialized transportation preferred Understanding of carrier compliance requirements and transportation documentation Experience with TMS platforms, load boards, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities Team-oriented mindset with a customer-first approach High level of professionalism, accountability, and urgency Preferred Skills Experience using transportation management systems from Descartes suite of platforms Knowledge of Highway?software and carrier compliance monitoring tools Familiarity with DAT, Truckstop, Highway, MacroPoint or other freight matching/load board systems Knowledge of freight billing, accessorial, and carrier pay processes Experience working with asset-based carriers What OWL Offers Opportunity to join and help build a rapidly growing ground transportation division Fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with growth opportunities Exposure to domestic transportation, brokerage, warehousing, and supply chain operations Collaborative and team-driven culture Competitive compensation and benefits package based on experience About OWL One Worldwide Logistics (OWL)?is a full-service logistics and transportation company providing domestic and international supply chain solutions including freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution, white glove transportation, and specialized logistics services.
