The Investment Associate will be responsible for performing all aspects of underwriting and due diligence for real estate assets and operating companies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and underwrite commercial real estate properties across all asset classes. Model in-place and projected investment performance including investor returns across various waterfall structures. Assist with all due diligence relating to new investments. Gather market data including demographics, sales and rent comparables, and other market studies. Prepare and present internal and external investment memos. Monitor and analyze investment performance. Assists with financing and disposition transactions. Assists with ad-hoc/special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in Science, Mathematics, Technology, Engineering, Real Estate, Finance, or Accounting. Three to five years of related experience, Commercial Real Estate experience preferred. Ability to interpret and review purchase agreements, closing statements, appraisals, tax forms, surveys, lease agreements, and title documentation. Demonstrated analytical skills and underwriting related experience, preferably with all commercial property types. Strong computer knowledge and skills including in-depth expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint). Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines. Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner. Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative. Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work long hours, including some nights and weekends.
