Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Position Summary This position provide will provide support for Schools, Colleges, Divisions and Units on campus along with support for the department heads and staff within the Budget Division. The incumbent will serve as the backup to the Budget Specialist which requires detailed analysis, data preparation and reporting. The focus and nature of this position requires professionalism, strong customer service and communication skills, exceptional organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail. In addition, this position deals with matters of a highly confidential nature. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Knowledge related to financial management, budgeting, budgetary reporting, and analysis.

A working knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar financial management system.

Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Review, analyze, and approve budget journals and budget transfers to ensure appropriateness and compliance with University policies and procedures.

Analyze budget journals to ensure accuracy in chartfield combinations.

Analyze journals for revenue and expense budget agreement.

Analyze budget journals for personal services to non-personal services variances

Analyze budget journals for compliance with University policies and procedures. Percentage of time 50 Duties/Responsibilities Support university community with budget related questions.

Perform research on chart string overdrafts, quarterly balancing, and reporting.

Important to have a thorough understanding of the financial data and the systems involved in resolving questions.

Assist with training for the budget journal process. Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities Supporting the University Budget Office with monthly, quarterly and annual budget to actual reports.

Utilize financial information from the UGA Budget Management System, UGA Financial Management System and UGA's data warehouse to populate reports and data tables. Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities Provide backup and assistance for University Budget Office staff

Assist with data collection and preparing reports as needed.

Researching various data inquiries for campus, senior leadership, and USG as needed. Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities Various quarterly and annual budget adjustments and analysis Percentage of time 5
