Job Description

Position Title:
Budget Analyst Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of Budget & Resource Analysis, the individual selected will assist in all aspects of developing and reporting on the University's annual operating budget. As part of their portfolio of responsibilities, this position will serve as a subject matter expert and support person for a set of UMBC units and Divisions.

Telework:
A hybrid telework schedule may be available.
Responsibilities:
Conduct complex budget and financial analyses to support data-driven decision-making. Monitor financial performance and develop budget and forecasts. Develop financial reports and presentations for campus leadership. Maintain and validate campus financial reporting system Financial Administrative Dashboards (FADs) to help divisions monitor their financial activities. Conduct monthly online training sessions of FADs to UMBC new staffs, ensuring divisions have accurate financial monitoring tools. Manage the internal budget amendment process in PeopleSoft Finance, ensuring accuracy and timely adjustments. Administer external budget application system (BAS) to facilitate financial data distribution to the University System of Maryland and the State. Conduct research and analysis as needed to support financial decision-making and policy development.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or business-related field. Three years of experience in financial analysis, management accounting, budgeting, auditing, data management, or data analysis. Three years of experience with Microsoft Excel. One year of experience with managing large volume data sets. One year of experience developing and implementing budgets in a complex organization. Demonstrated knowledge• of: Budgeting and financial analysis within a university environment. Financial and personnel systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle financials. •Knowledge may be demonstrated through education, training and/or experience.

Salary:
Salary $82,700 - 100,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
