$30.00 - $40.00/hour (depending on experience) About the Role Our client, a well-established organization in the western suburbs of Chicago, is seeking a detail-oriented Budget Specialist to join their finance team on a temporary basis. This role will support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and expense analysis while partnering with departmental leaders to ensure accurate financial planning and budget management. Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets and forecasts Monitor department spending and identify budget variances Prepare budget reports, financial analyses, and ad hoc reporting Track expenditures and reconcile budget accounts Support month-end and year-end financial processes Collaborate with department managers regarding budget planning and monitoring Analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies Maintain budget documentation and ensure compliance with company policies Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred 2+ years of budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, or related experience Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas) Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or PeopleSoft preferred Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Benefits While on assignment, employees may be eligible for healthcare coverage, retirement savings options, paid sick leave where applicable, and access to professional development resources.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour . Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
