Job Description

Chief Financial Officer Fay Nutrition Accounting & Finance San Francisco, CA, USA Posted on Apr 28, 2026 Apply now About Fay At Fay, our mission is to make nutrition a foundational pillar of preventative care, improving outcomes, accessibility, and affordability at scale. We're building AI-powered infrastructure to transform preventative healthcare. Think that's bold? We're just getting started. Today, Fay is a three-sided marketplace connecting providers, patients, and payers to revolutionize preventative care delivery. Our b2b2c business-in-a-box solution empowers dietitians to deliver high-quality, affordable nutrition care, helps patients take control of their health, and enables payers to build healthier member populations. Nutrition is our starting point, not the finish line. The platform we're building will expand into new areas of preventative health and wellness as we grow. We're proud to be one of the fastest-growing companies in healthtech, backed by category-defining investors like General Catalyst, Forerunner, 1984, and Goldman Sachs. Ready to leverage AI-driven technology to transform preventative care and make a real-world impact on health? Let's talk. About This Role We're seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to serve as a true operating partner to our CEO and leadership team at a critical inflection point. This is not a build-from-scratch role, it's a strengthen-and-scale role. You'll inherit a business that has grown rapidly and needs a high-judgment finance leader to tighten the foundation, drive performance credibility, and help scale substantially in the near term, with the ambition to build a $500M to $1B+ category-defining brand in preventative care. What You'll Be Doing Drive performance, then scale: Own the financial model with deep fluency in unit economics, payer dynamics, and margin levers. Identify the three to five drivers that matter most, and help leadership lean in or pull back based on performance data.
Strengthen the financial foundation:
Tighten GAAP rigor, controls, and reporting cadence. Establish disciplined monthly close and board-ready materials tied to clear annual guidance, all while not introducing unnecessary bureaucracy. Be the partner every functional leader needs: Translate complex financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations on spend, growth levers, marketing ROI, and capital allocation. Bring 80/20 clarity to an outcomes-driven environment.
Shape capital strategy:
Act as a strategic advisor on capital structure and financing options as the company prepares for its next raise. Lead financial components of board and investor communication, shaping a credible narrative and reinforcing confidence in the numbers. Build and lead a finance team that scales: Hire exceptional talent and turn finance into a growth engine for a business transforming preventative care. Your Skills and Experience 10+ years in finance with increasing scope and impact, ideally including at least one real inflection point, be it a hypergrowth period, a major raise, or a business that had to professionalize quickly after scaling fast. Exceptional communicator who pairs substance with humility. You offer thoughtful pushback, translate complexity into clarity, and thrive in a high-intensity, outcomes-driven culture where intensity and empathy coexist. Deep fluency in unit economics and the ability to identify what actually drives the business, as well as building a reporting and planning architecture around those levers. Board and investor exposure, including presenting performance, shaping capital discussions, and elevating financial transparency with sophisticated stakeholders. Strong fundamentals across accounting, reporting, and planning. You can work hands-on and raise rigor while preserving decision velocity. Healthcare experience is additive but not required. Equally strong fits include leaders from fast-scaling consumer marketplaces, services-heavy platforms, or enterprise software businesses with complex unit economics and CAC/LTV dynamics. The best companies are made of the best people. We've got ambitious goals with a long road ahead, and we move together. We work hard, stay energized, and make time to celebrate the wins along the way. See our careers page here to learn more about working on our team. Fay is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Apply now See more open positions at Fay Nutrition
