Denver Fire Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the organization's financial strategy and help ensure its long-term financial strength, sustainability, and growth. This executive-level position serves as a strategic partner to the President/CEO, Executive Leadership Team, ALCO, and Board of Directors, providing financial insight and guidance to support sound organizational decisions. What You'll Do Develop and execute long-term financial strategies that support growth, profitability, capital strength, member value, and safety and soundness. Lead the annual budgeting process, long-range forecasting, financial modeling, and ongoing performance analysis. Oversee the Credit Union's investment portfolio, liquidity, cash management, and asset/liability management activities. Serve on ALCO and monitor interest rate, liquidity, concentration, and balance sheet risks. Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and present financial results, trends, and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board. Monitor capital levels, earnings, liquidity, financial ratios, and other key performance indicators to identify opportunities and potential risks. Lead financial risk management and maintain strong internal controls and compliance with applicable accounting standards, NCUA regulations, and internal policies. Oversee internal and external audits and regulatory examinations, including responses to findings and corrective action plans. Lead and develop the Finance and Accounting team, establishing goals and promoting accountability, collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvement. Evaluate financial processes and systems to identify opportunities for automation, improved controls, enhanced reporting, and greater operational efficiency. Provide meaningful financial analysis, dashboards, and recommendations to support data-driven executive and Board decision-making. Participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to strategic planning, enterprise decisions, and organizational initiatives. Serve as a Credit Committee member and provide loan approval support for consumer, commercial, and participation loans when requested. What We're Looking For Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university. CPA certification required. 3-5 years of related experience demonstrating the ability to lead financial operations and strategic initiatives. Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, investments, ALM, liquidity, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn financial data into meaningful business recommendations. Experience leading, developing, and managing Finance and Accounting professionals. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to executive leadership and a Board of Directors. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systems. A collaborative and service-oriented leadership style with a commitment to teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Pay:
$108,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
