LEAD FINANCIAL STRATEGY & ADVANCE THE MISSION
Serve as a strategic financial partner to the Lead Pastor and Strategy & Operations Pastor. Translate LIFEGATE's vision and priorities into sustainable financial strategies and plans. Provide financial modeling and recommendations for growth, staffing, and major initiatives. Lead financial strategy for property acquisitions, expansion, and other investments. Evaluate opportunities based on capital needs, debt, cash flow, risk, and long-term impact. Develop long-range financial plans that anticipate growth, opportunities, and future needs.
LEAD BUDGETING, FORECASTING & FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
Lead the annual churchwide budget process with the Strategy & Operations Pastor. Partner with department leaders to develop budgets aligned with churchwide priorities. Develop forecasts based on giving, expenses, staffing, capital needs, and growth. Monitor financial performance and proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide clear financial reports, dashboards, insights, and recommendations to leadership. Equip leaders to understand financial performance and steward their budgets effectively. Lead financial audits / reviews and maintain safeguards against fraud and organizational liability.

Lead the Staff Accountant and ensure excellence across all accounting functions. Ensure accurate and timely accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and financial close. Oversee accounts payable, contributions, payroll, and general ledger functions. Ensure accurate payroll processing, taxes, deductions, reporting, and required filings. Ensure proper accounting and stewardship of designated and restricted funds. Oversee bank, investment, reserve, and other accounts with strong financial controls. Maintain strong financial policies, records, internal controls, and approval processes.
LEAD CASH, DEBT, FINANCING & CAPITAL STRATEGY
Oversee cash flow, liquidity, operating reserves, capital reserves, and investment strategy. Oversee all loans, payment schedules, covenants, lender requirements, and relationships. Evaluate debt capacity and financing options for acquisitions and capital investments. Analyze refinancing, debt reduction, seller financing, and other capital structures. Advise leadership on debt, leverage, reserves, financing, and major capital commitments.
SUPPORT REAL ESTATE, CONSTRUCTION & CAPITAL PROJECTS
Serve as the financial leader for property, construction, and major capital projects. Develop project budgets, financial models, cash-flow projections, and funding strategies. Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, leases, construction, and development. Evaluate contracts, financing terms, operating costs, and long-term financial impact. Monitor capital spending, risks, and controlling potential overruns while supporting project execution.
PARTNER WITH ADVANCEMENT & STEWARDSHIP
Partner with leadership on financial strategies for expansion and major initiatives. Develop financial models that inform fundraising goals and capital campaign targets. Provide giving trends and financial insights that help inform advancement strategy. Ensure proper stewardship of designated gifts, commitments, and restricted funds. Align advancement plans with capital needs, cash flow, and long-range financial strategy.
OVERSEE HR ADMINISTRATION, BENEFITS, LEGAL & RISK
Oversee payroll, benefits, personnel administration, and employment-related compliance. Oversee benefit plans, workers' compensation, unemployment, renewals, and vendors. Ensure personnel records, employment documentation, and required filings are maintained. Oversee background checks and required screening processes for staff and volunteers. Oversee insurance, liability coverage, renewals, claims, and organizational risk. Coordinate legal matters and serve as the primary liaison with outside legal counsel. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and reporting requirements.
LEAD AND OVERSEE FACILITIES & PHYSICAL ASSET STEWARDSHIP
Lead and oversee the Facilities Director and ensure excellence across facility operations. Ensure facilities are safe, effective, well-maintained, and stewarded within budget. Oversee long-range facility, preventative maintenance, and asset replacement planning. Oversee facility-related vendors, contracts, major purchases, and financial commitments. Align facility priorities and capital needs with churchwide strategy and financial plans.

Lead, develop, and hold accountable direct reports and external professional partners. Establish clear expectations, systems, processes, and accountability for areas of oversight. Improve financial, administrative, and technological systems to support continued organizational growth. Partner with leadership to align HR administration with culture and staff care. Build financial literacy among leaders to strengthen decision-making and stewardship. Anticipate infrastructure needed for future growth, campuses, and organizational complexity. OVERSEE IT & TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE
Oversee IT systems, infrastructure, vendors, contracts, and technology investments. Ensure technology systems are secure, reliable, scalable, and support organizational needs. Oversee cybersecurity, data protection, access controls, and technology-related risk. Develop long-range technology plans, budgets, and replacement cycles for key systems. Ensure IT priorities and investments align with churchwide strategy and future growth.

RELATIONSHIPS STRATEGY & OPERATIONS PASTOR
The CFO reports directly to the Strategy & Operations Pastor, who is ultimately responsible for all that takes place with finance, accounting, construction, and campus expansion. As such, the CFO is expected to learn from and be responsive to him/her in all areas of ministry vision, direction, and coaching while striving for a healthy Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.
