Seibert Equity Co-Op Association is searching for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Seibert, Colorado.
Position Details:
The CFO directs the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees. Provides maximum service to members and patrons in order for our cooperative be recognized as an efficiently managed, soundly financed and democratically controlled organization. Oversee and direct budgeting, long range forecasting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate, and insurance activities Stay informed on all required accounting procedures and legal requirements pertaining to the financial reporting of the coop Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Direct the accounting staff in computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services Supervise accounting functions: payroll, prepay money and balancing of prepay accounts, coding and entering invoices, balance cash on hand and clearing accounts Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable: daily banking procedures and associated function, maintain accurate and current general ledger, maintain accurate accrual of expenses Prepare accurate and timely financial statements recording all the necessary receivables, payables and other accruals Direct and coordinates the establishment of budget programs Coordinates tax reporting programs and management of tax liabilities Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures Oversee the preparation of the cooperative's annual report Coordinate with Cooperative's independent CPA to complete an annual financial statement audit Coordinate with CEO and Cooperative's banker to ensure that all cash flow requirements can be met through available cash and operating lines of credit. Ensure proper internal controls are implemented to protect cooperative assets Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures with other statistical and routine reports Analyze studies of general economic, business and financial conditions and their impact on the organizations' policies and operations and recommend business partnering opportunities Analyze operational issues that impact the cooperative and determine their overall financial impact Establishes and maintains contacts with stockholders, financial institutions, and the investment community Provide necessary training, guidance and professional experience to the accounting and management staff Process payroll for all cooperative employees, ensuring accurate wages, deductions, and timely tax filings (941, 940, state unemployment, W-2s). Administer employee benefits enrollment, deductions, and payroll-related compliance (FLSA, wage and hour laws). Reconcile payroll liability accounts and ensure proper GL coding across departments. Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult situations, responding promptly to customer needs, resolve questions, complaints and concerns immediately Provide information requested by the General Manager. Position Requirements and Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience as Controller/CFO. This position requires excellent computer operations skills and customer service skills. Agriculture and/or cooperative experience a plus. Strong organizational and communications skills Prioritizes the level of service provided to our customers Understands and promotes the benefits of a Cooperative Valid driver's license required. Compensation and Benefits:
The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 depending on experience. This is a full time position with benefits including Coop retirement. Bonus eligibility is based upon Cooperative profits.
